Sent 18 April 1990 paying 39c letter rate and $1.37 for priority paid.

No matter how hard you push the envelope it will still remain stationery.

Some nice covers, Drew.

Is it necessary to obliterate names?

I understand privacy issues, but after a few decades I wonder is that relevant?

It certainly is off-putting from an aesthetic viewpoint.

Back to topic:

It's always a delight when one finds a specific stamp deployed for a specific postal service. In this instance, the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games 25c pays the Priority Paid fee on this Jul 29 1976 cover, Elizabeth SA to Nowra NSW.

A desirable item for (a) Australian Decimal Usage specialists; (b) Olympic Games exhibitors.

Thank you for your post Rod. I too believe that the addresses shouldn't need to be coverd up.

Looking forward to seeing more of your treasures from the vault.

Not sure why this one has the incorrectly/late marking applied.
